Further Down the Rabbit Hole - An Introduction to Archetypes
If you have gotten this far into your adventure you understand this is about the root; awareness of your core nature and consciousness. This leads to empowerment, conscious choice and a life filled with meaning and purpose.
On this path you begin to recognize the various "masks" you wear and the parts you play in the theater of life. You are born with certain energy forces that motivate and drive your interest and enthusiasm. Often we refer to this as our personality and its multiples, those fragments that we try to define and sometimes hide.
You may sometimes wish you could be other than, because being you seems complicated. You may feel at odds with what you think and what you actually do.
Stage right. An archetype is an energy form that acts like a magnet attracting various and relevant experiences. You are born with twelve, four survival archetypes which we share, and eight unique to you.
The courses offered here provide time for a personal journey to your past in order to discover your archetypal identity and the patterns and habits which form your experiences. You begin to see your personal story reflected through your archetypes. This stimulates a new version as you begin to understand the lessons that were offered through your circumstances, events and the people in your life. With an enlarged understanding of self you find life themes, family myths, even fairy tales and movies reflecting a new story.
Knowledge of the archetypes stimulates your imagination, shakes loose some outdated beliefs, brings context and connectedness to the healing process and opens you to a deeper meaning in the rest of your life. It clarifies your purpose and attracts the things you need in order to fulfill that purpose. It also keeps you from being unconsciously ruled by the archetype and makes that energy available to you, so that you become the producer and director of your story.
Archetypes go back to human development evident in cave drawings. Plato referred to them as forms. Swiss psychiatrist Carl G. Jung called the archetypes "symbols of all the inner forces that work toward unity, health, fullness of life, and purposeful conscious development." Caroline Myss created a method that is grounded and proven. This method enable you to access your archetypes and personal history within a structure that calls for honesty, and encourages flexibility and fluidity.
